
Bio
Melanie Sien Min Lyn is an interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of performance, video and new media. She looks at how visual culture and identity are shaped in today’s digital world, exploring creative uses of AI image generation, found footage and reenactment. Since 2019 she has been experimenting with chat-based formats and interfaces as performative spaces. Her previous career in international politics informs her interest and research in power dynamics and social relations. In addition to her artistic practice, she works as a documentary filmmaker, arts educator and writer.
She studied at King’s College London and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Her work has been shown at Kassel Dokfest, Berlin Performing Arts Festival, Fierce Festival Birmingham, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.
